Character maquette

Andy made a great suggestion — making a small character model to help get an idea of how they'd look from all angles. So I did!

I'm hilariously bad at modelling, but it was a neat exercise and I had a lot of fun with it! The beret looks more like a flat cap and one of his arms is really limp and keeps falling off, but I feel quite fond of it.

Somehow, I managed to buy the kind of clay that remains pliable and never dries. Frenchy will forever be squishy :(

Aww I love your french guy, I can't wait to see your final animation in Principles as well as Digital. Why do you put yourself down, Alex? You really are a lot better than you think, y'know? :P

You're very good at making models, the humpback really suits his depressed character. I'm already feeling sorry for him, I hope outside of this project he has a happy day ;D I think Andy's idea is a good one, I wish he suggested that to me. Do you mind if I try the idea out too?

Keep it up Alex, you're doing great :)

@jasmineive Thank you so much Jazzy, I always love getting comments from you — they're such a pleasure to read and very insightful :] Thanks again for taking the time out of your day to write them.

Haha of course I don't mind — I can hardly take credit for the idea! I think Andy suggested it to quite a few people — certainly not going to jump down your neck and ban everybody from making models! I have some plasticine left over if you'd like to use it and save yourself some money? I'm sure yours will be amazing :]
